Hands-on entry into plastics fabrication, permanent role under qualified tradesmen.

The role

Industrial Plastics is hiring a Junior Plastics Fabricator for our Brisbane workshop. This is a permanent, full-time role for someone with practical aptitude who wants to build a trade in plastics fabrication under DVS 2207 qualified welders, but isn’t coming in as a formal first-year apprentice.

Good fit if you have some prior trade or workshop experience, mechanical fitting, boiler-making, welding, CNC operating, manufacturing, or hands-on construction work, and you want to specialise in industrial plastics fabrication.

What you will do

  • Working alongside qualified plastics fabricators on tank, pipework, ducting and process-equipment fabrication.
  • Learning DVS 2207 plastics welding, butt-fusion, electrofusion, hot-gas, hot-plate, IR. Path to full DVS qualification.
  • CNC routing, sawing, brake-forming, thermoforming, drilling and edge-finishing.
  • Reading drawings, taking dimensions, inspection check-offs.
  • Receiving, dispatch, materials handling and oversize-load preparation.

What we look for

  • Some prior trade, workshop or hands-on manufacturing experience, doesn’t need to be plastics-specific.
  • Practical, hands-on attitude and care about quality of finish.
  • Reliable, on-time, finishes what they start.
  • Australian work rights and the ability to commute to Hemmant, eastern Brisbane.
  • Year 12 or equivalent preferred but not essential. Trade aptitude matters more than qualifications.
