When your business requires a specialised plastic tank with custom specifications, Industrial Plastics are the right people for the job. To put together special projects we required to use a crane to help with tank bunding  to complete this complex tank. In order to achieve the structural strength of a stainless steel tank, a plastic alternative will need to consider a greater wall thickness and/or additional reinforcing. Plastic tanks can be reinforced by having external ribbing plates, internal baffles or steel frames. A tank bunding is used to capture any leakage that may occur from the first tank to ensure that the hazardous chemicals contained in these tank never leak.

Tank Bunding

High-density polyethylene is a popular plastic with a range of benefits and industrial applications. It features high chemical resistance and is immune to rust, mold, rot, and insects. It has a very high life span, capable of outlasting most traditional materials. Further, it is an ideal balance of lightweight and durable while simultaneously being incredibly malleable, meaning it can be worked into almost any shape you require.

We recently completed a job for a client requiring a self-bunded tank 3.5 meters in diameter and 5.8 meters high, made from high-density polyethylene plastic to store a betaine chemical compound commonly used as an additive in poultry feed. It was manufactured and tested at our production facility in Pinkenba to ensure our extremely high quality assurance standards were met. It was so large it required tank bund lifting with a crane to put it together.

Simply put, our expert plastic fabricators, high quality material and industry leading quality assurance practises means we are the pinnacle of industrial plastics manufacturing. Our engineers will work with you to figure out how we can deliver the specifications you require for your project.
