At Industrial Plastics we are committed to upholding a safe work environment for our plastic manufacturers.

Friday 28th April is world day for safety and health at work and workers’ memorial day. Australia’s work-related fatality rates have been steadily trending downwards. Industrial Plastics is dedicated in raising awareness and taking the lead in work health and safety by implementing continuous training and strict quality control measures.

Industrial Plastics ISO9001 Quality Management System is not only the driving force behind our quality products but also a major contributor to staff development and occupational health and safety measures.

Industrial Plastics has developed an extensive in-house training program to properly equip our plastic manufacturers with the skills to safely and effectively carry out a job. This enterprise based welding training package has been inspired by the European Standard EN 13067 and DVS Technical Code 2212 for qualification training and testing of thermoplastic welders.

Once the plastic manufacturers have completed the training package, theoretical and practical assessment is done based on the requirements of the codes. Test welds are independently tested – providing welder performance qualification (WPQ) as well as welcome feedback. In addition, key production plastic manufacturers have completed training with visiting German trainers to achieve the DVS recognized welding qualification for hot air, extrusion and heated tool welding.

We have also utilised the Plastic and Rubber Industry specific RTO (PARTEC) to ensure senior plastic manufacturers have nationally recognised qualifications to at least Certificate III in Plastic Processing – Fabrication.

The comprehensive theoretical component of the package contributes towards ongoing engagement and accountability, allowing our plastic manufacturers to operate in a safe an effective manner.

Industrial Plastics is motivated to ensure our level of professionalism is reflected in the industry. Our plastic manufacturers are active members of international professional associations to ensure latest developments are identified and adopted in our field.

Industrial Plastics would like to honour the memory of victims of occupational accidents and diseases. For more information on world day for safety and health at work please click here.
