Please find a couple of pictures of an HDPE tank that left our premises yesterday.

hdpe tank

This custom plastic tank was built for another plastic fabricator so we can’t mention any names of who it’s for, unfortunately.

The tank is a 28,000L tank made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), custom built to customers specifications to hold barren eluate which is a byproduct of rare metal production such as in the gold and uranium mining industries.

Why a HDPE Tank?

HDPE tanks are very resistant to a wide range of chemicals, acids, and caustic compounds. They have good chemical compatibility, allowing them to store and transport a wide range of liquids, including corrosive compounds, without fear of degradation or contamination.

HDPE tanks are noted for their outstanding strength and durability. They are resistant to impacts, harsh environmental conditions, and temperature changes without cracking or leaking. Because of their durability, they are an excellent solution for long-term liquid storage and handling.

HDPE tanks are lightweight when compared to other materials such as steel or concrete, making them easier to handle, transport, and install. This decreases installation time, labour costs, and the need for heavy machinery, resulting in HDPE tanks being a cost-effective option.

V Resistance: HDPE tanks are extremely resistant to UV light from the sun. This makes them excellent for outdoor applications such as water storage in agricultural or industrial settings, where additional protective coatings or covers are not required.

HDPE is a non-toxic material that has been authorised for food and beverage applications. HDPE tanks are suitable for storing potable water and other consumable liquids because they maintain the integrity and quality of the stored contents.

Simple Maintenance: HDPE tanks require little maintenance. They are resistant to rust, corrosion, and biological growth, requiring fewer inspections and repairs. HDPE tanks have a smooth surface that resists scaling and is easy to clean.

Environmental Sustainability: HDPE is a recyclable material that helps to preserve the environment. Choosing HDPE tanks promotes eco-friendly practises by decreasing waste and encouraging material reuse.

Versatility: HDPE tanks come in a number of sizes, forms, and layouts to meet a variety of storage needs. They can be customised with fittings, manways, and access points to ensure compatibility with specific applications.
