With its large inventory of HDPE Liner, Industrial Plastics can meet the needs of a wide range of lining applications in mining, water and marine industries. We recently supplied HDPE Liner for a specialised application of bioremediation of contaminated soil for a mining-related freight operator, in addition to our supply for traditional applications.

Bioremediation is a process that breaks down harmful contaminants in soil by simulating microorganisms that use the contaminants as an energy source for development. This procedure lowers the risk of harmful pollutants affecting human health and the environment.

Soil Remediation

Traditionally, builders’ plastic was utilised for this application; but, due to increased contaminants concentrations, the soil needed to be in touch with bioremediation nutrients for extended periods of time, necessitating the employment of a durable lining material that could survive the test of time.

Why choose HDPE liner for soil remediation?

Soil Remedation

HDPE Liner with the properties listed below will be an excellent choice for long-term soil remediation and contaminated soil storage applications.

  • High tensile strength and puncture resistant
  • Excellent environmental stress cracking resistance properties
  • High UV resistance ( critical for long term remediation)
  • Operational temperature range: -70°C ~ 110°C
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Chemical resistant ( Inert to the soil contaminants)
  • Optimal roll sizes ( ease of installation)
