Industrial Plastics recently completed a run of acrylic fabricated tanks for the National Sea Simulator. This marine research facility operated by the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is constantly carrying out research in the areas of climate change, pest management and intervention and coastal and industrial development impacts.
The acrylic fabricated tanks have been used in the Sea Simulator’s experimental room. Coupled with smart technologies, the researchers can conduct experiments on a range of organisms, mostly notably coral. The tanks provide a suitable and controlled environment to study spawning conditions, check out their great video below.
The acrylic fabricated tanks were custom made with 6mm clear acrylic and fitted with a removable lid and appropriate flanges and fittings.
To see our acrylic fabricated tanks in action head over the National Sea Simulator’s virtual tour, our tanks can be found in the experimental room. Simply follow this link or click the image below.
